What role is MOJO playing in contemporary journalism?

Cell phones and tablets with top quality screens have empowered people to watch videos anywhere. HD Cameras, editing applications on Smartphones have given access of Content Creation to everyone. High Speed Internet is also working as cherry on the cake. All these facilities gave birth to MOJO the mobile journalism.

In today’s world, MOJO has become a necessary aspect for Journalists. Blogging, Tweets, Facebook Live videos, YouTube channel are some essential part of MOJO and people are using their Smartphones, Tabs or iPads for all this work.

The latest example of MOJO is 7 News Melbourne doing Facebook Live of a Press Conference about Shooting at Las Vegas music festival.

Not only established journalists, MOJO has given opportunity to local people to be Citizen Journalists. People are using Facebook Live, Twitter and YouTube channels to inform and entertain audience. Posts and videos from common people are creating waves these days. There are many examples of common man reporting issues and crimes through MOJO.

The recent example is from Chandigarh India, where a guy made a video of a police man talking on his mobile phone while driving a motorcycle and not wearing his helmet properly. While the video was filmed, the Chandigarh Cop slapped the local resident. Video went viral and Chandigarh police had to suspend the police officer. Former Union Minister of State Manish Tewari also tweeted this video urging Chandigarh Police to Suspend the policeman.
